The College of Business Education offers programs designed to meet the growing demands of business, industry, and government. It offers the following academic programs:
Business Education Program
This program leads to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Management Accounting, Human Resource Development Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, and Operations Management. It aims to provide the students with:
- Christian moral and spiritual values as the foundation for social and economic enterprise;
- The highest standards of academic excellence in course work and activities of the College;
- A common foundation of knowledge concerning modern business through a core program consisting of general and professional education;
- Sufficient exposure to relate academic instruction to the realities of the business world;
- Adequate training to prepare the graduate for fruitful employment and/or guide him towards entrepreneurship or self-employment and to be globally competitive; and
- Motivation for professional growth to prepare the graduate for executive leadership.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA)
General Program Description
The Business Administration program is designed to produce graduates that possess a familiarity with business operations and critical thinking skills in decision-making, as well as a solid foundation in the strategies and the level and scope of work necessary for competing in the ever-changing world of global business in the various domains of business administration. It further empowers students by providing them with a basic and clear understanding of the functions of every division in a company, whether in the marketing, finance, operation, human resources, hospitality, or office management areas. Training provided in this program emphasizes leadership skills, thus preparing the students for a managerial and supervisory positions. At the same time, it stresses the importance of being able to work well with a group and within an organization.

A graduate of BSBA should be able to:

BSBA Major in Human Resources
Program Description
The program focuses on employee selection, training, management development, industrial relation, compensation and the dynamics of organizational behaviour. It is designed to assist managers in the development of skills and competencies for employees to acquire good positions and become competitive and responsive to global change.

BSBA major in Operations Management
Program Description
The program prepares the students to manage the day-to-day operation of business, and helps develop their proficiency at processes involved in the production and distribution of goods and delivery of services, inventory, logistics and managing the equipment and facilities used to run businesses.

A graduate of BSBA (major in Operations Management) should be able to:

BSBA major in Marketing Management
Specific Program Description
The program deals with the nature, scope, and role of marketing in the growth of the economy and in helping attain sustainability of a decent standard of living. The marketing concepts and specialized activities like marketing research, selling and product planning and development are designed to prepare students to become pro - active participants in the lucrative world of business.

A graduate of BSBA (major in Marketing Management) should be able to:
- Exercise dynamism, commitment, morality, and social responsibility as future marketing managers for social and economic enterprises.
- Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and skills proficiency in the principles and concepts of marketing, and sales strategies.

BSBA Major in Financial Management
Specific Program Description
The program aims to prepare the students for positions of financial management by providing a strong foundation in theory principles and concepts, as well as analytical tools that will equip them with skills in making sound financial and investment decisions, and allow them to position themselves competitively in their profession. Students will also learn about how financial institutions produce and grow profits, how prices of goods and services are set, how to manage assets and liabilities, and the different government regulations that have a direct effect on business.

A graduate of BSBA (major in Financial Management) should be able to:
- Manifest competence, dynamism, commitment, a sense of morality, and social responsibility in classroom situations and in off-classroom co-curricular activities as future finance managers.
- Demonstrate analytical skills and depth of perception to make sound financial decision making in the business world.
- Choose and utilize the correct tools and methodologies to solve financial management problems including developing financial plans and the use of different financial strategies.
- Apply appropriate financial management techniques for promoting accountability , sustainability and organizational effectiveness.

Bachelor of Science in Office Management
This program is geared towards the preparation of efficient secretaries to adequately meet the growing demands of manpower in business, industry, government service, and educational institutions. This program aims to provide the students with:
- A common foundation of knowledge and understanding of modern business through a core program consisting of general education and professional secretarial education/administration courses;
- Academic instruction relevant to the realities of office administration;
- Adequate training to make the secretarial course graduates immediately employable and/or able to engage in entrepreneurship activity; and
- Proper motivation for professional growth.
Courses in the curriculum will familiarize students with current techniques in office practice and procedures, developments in office systems and technology, good team working and management skills, and application of the principles of good human relations and communications to prepare them to be key players in day to day office operations. Lessons in writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively to employers, employees, and the general public are provided in selected courses.

A graduate of BS Office Management of Northern Christian College should be able to:
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to high-level executives guided by the Code of Ethics for Office Professionals.
- Organize files, information and office supplies effectively

Hospitality Management
The program is geared towards the preparation of students to adequately meet the growing demands of the tourism program of the government and the tourism, hotel and restaurant industry. This leads to a ladderized course, two-year certificate leading to the Associate in Hospitality Management; and four-year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. The program aims to provide the students with:
- A common foundation of knowledge and understanding of the modern business through a core program consisting of general education and professional education in tourism, hotel and restaurant technology;
- Sufficient exposure to related academic instruction relevant to the realities of the business world;
- An adequate training to make the hospitality management course graduates immediately employable and/or able to engage in entrepreneurship undertakings;
- A well-rounded personality as basic and indispensable asset of hospitality management course graduate; and
- Proper motivation for professional growth.
Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management
Program Description
The field of study will equip students with competencies that needed to execute operational tasks and management functions in food production (culinary), accommodation, food and beverage service, tourism planning, and product development, events planning, transportation services, travel and tour operations and other emerging sectors of hospitality and tourism industry.

School of Theology
Program Description
The undergraduate Christian Formation program in Theology seeks to:
- Promote the spiritual, moral, cultural and intellectual formation of the students;
- Provide a basic and integrated knowledge of theology in the light of the Holy Scriptures, historical tradition and current issues in a manner relevant to the local and other cultures; and,
- Provide structures of learning to develop skills in theological reflection.
Degree Name
The degree program described herein is Bachelor of Arts in Theology (AB Theology).
Nature of the Field of Study
This program is designed to equip students with the balanced training of academic biblical/theological study, evangelical spirituality and competencies expressed through ministry skills, theological contextualization and the ability to communicate well the truths of the Christian faith. Students will be equipped toward a ministry path that is geared toward theological reflection, education, as well as research and writing in the field of theology.
Program Goals
The program will specifically:
- Equip students to understand Christian Theology and expound the Holy Scriptures according to sound interpretative principles, aided by the Christian faith;
- Empower the students to articulate and defend the basic set of beliefs of the Christian faith;
- Develop skills in interpreting, articulating, and communicating key theological and ministerial issues;
- Enable students to practice Christian theology and model a life showing an internally formed Scriptural holiness.
Specific Professions/Careers/Occupations
Graduates of the aforementioned program may go into teaching in Theology schools, and administering a Church through its teaching/preaching ministries, research and writing.
Allied Fields
Graduates of the aforementioned program may also qualify as administrators or faculty of the following degree programs: AB Pastoral Studies; AB Christian Ministries; AB Intercultural Ministries; AB Christian Education; and AB Sacred Music.
Program Outcomes
The minimum standards for the Bachelor of Arts in Theology (AB Theology) program are expressed in the following minimum set of learning outcomes:
- Expound on the teachings of the Holy Scripture according to sound interpretive principles, aided by the insights of Christian faith in accordance with the proven academic standards;
- Interpret key ministerial issues through the multiple lenses of Bible, theology, spirituality and the Social Sciences;
- Articulate and defend the basic set of beliefs of the Christian faith;
- Communicate the Christian faith through the faithful exercise of preaching, teaching and writing.
- Practice theology by applying one’s own understanding of the Bible to particular contexts in such a way that transformation is achieved in one’s sphere of influence.
- Model a life showing an internally formed Scriptural holiness.

Late Registration and Validation
- Enrolment Period: All students should be officially enrolled within the first two weeks after the start of classes as it appears in the college calendar of activities. Students who are unable to make the nominal fee/minimum down payment are considered “unvalidated”, which means their names will not yet appear in the class list.
- Because NCC is a Christian school and practices Christian compassion, unvalidated students may already attend classes from the first day, so as not to incur absences. However, they must make the minimum down payment within the first two weeks of classes.
- Late Registration: Any student who fails to enroll within the first two weeks of classes as stipulated above will be considered a late enrollee and will be charged a late enrolment fee. Furthermore,s/he will be counted as absent if s/he enrolls beyond the two-week grace period for unvalidated students. Enrolment ends three working days prior to the Commission on Higher Education’s deadline for submitting the final list of validated enrollees.

Graduate School Mission
The Graduate School of the Northern Christian College commits itself to develop people to become creative and responsive citizens through relevant Christian education, research, and community service.
Graduate School Objectives
- To develop leaders in education and public administration for national growth;
- To stimulate research geared towards development, including the presentation, transmission, and enrichment of the cultural heritage;
- To improve competence in teaching, educational supervision, administration and management, guidance and counseling, and public administration;
- To upgrade personal development in communication skills and reasoning power.
Organizational Structure
The chief operating officer of the Graduate School is the dean who is designated by the college president with the approval of the Board of Trustees. The dean exercises overall administration and supervision of the graduate programs. S/he reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and sits in the Academic Council. The office of the Graduate School is located at the Founder’s Hall. The classrooms are found at the Founders’ Hall and at the Evangelische Zentralstelle fur Entwicklungshilfe (EZE) Building.
Academic Programs
The Graduate School offers Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), major in Educational Management; Master of Arts in Education (MAEd.), with major in the following three (3) areas: Administration and Management, Guidance and Counseling, and Instructional Management; and Master in Public Administration (MPA).
The Master of Arts in Education (Revised Curriculum, 2008-2009) has 3 fields of specialization: Administration and Management; Guidance and Counseling; and Instructional Management.
Administration and Management
This program prepares current and future school leaders to meet the professional demands of ideal educational leadership. The courses develop the students’ competence related to effective leadership and educational management practices. It also allows the students to explore the theoretical and practical aspects of curriculum development, teaching and learning, and the supervision of instruction. Exposure to research about current realities as well as emerging trends and issues in various aspects of educational administration and management ensures a continuing growth and effectiveness of the school leaders. They are prepared to conduct scholarly reviews that will address relevant issues in their school setting.
Guidance and Counseling
This program prepares students to become proficient in the various aspects of school guidance and counseling. The course offers graduate coursework in the development and management of relevant functional school program and services; the diagnosis of the students’ educational, vocational, and personal needs and concerns in the implementation of appropriate counseling techniques and intervention programs; psychological measurement and evaluation; and research methodology. The students are prepared to conduct scholarly research that will address relevant issues in their own school setting.
Instructional Management
This program prepares students to use a variety of tools and media to support teaching and learning. It covers the production and management of learning resources and educational media and the application of technology to enhance the teaching and learning environment. Students are prepared to conduct scholarly research that will address relevant issues related to the use of educational media and technology in their own setting.
Master in Public Administration (MPA) [Revised Curriculum 2011-2012]
The Master in Public Administration program prepares individuals to serve as managers in the executive and of local, provincial, regional, and national government agencies, in non-government organizations, and non-profit sectors. Its emphasis is on the development of sound skills achieved through the integration of theory and practice. It requires in the students analytical and administrative skills, ability to apply various management tools, and in-depth knowledge in specific policy areas.
Doctor of Education, major in Educational Management (Revised Curriculum 2009-2010)
The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) is an academic and research-oriented degree for current and would-be administrators at all levels of education, including education specialists and faculty members at the tertiary level. Its emphasis is on academic excellence with research orientation for effective management of the school system. It develops in the students sound decision-making ability and prepares them to meet the demand for national and international development goals.
Cross-Enrollment of NCC Students in Other Higher Education Institutions
Cross-Enrollment of NCC Students in Other Higher Education Institutions
- Cross-enrollment in other colleges and universities is generally discouraged. However, for valid reasons as determined by the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and upon her/his recommendation to the President for the latter’s approval, a student may be issued a permit to cross-enroll in another school.
- Valid reasons include:
2.1. The subject needed by a student is not offered or is no longer offered in NCC, usually as a result of changes or revisions in the curriculum.
2.2. The subject is closed, dissolved or in conflict with another subject, and the student is in his/her final semester.
- If such valid reasons exist, then cross-enrollment may be granted under the following conditions:
3.1.The course description of the subject in the host school is similar to that of NCC.
3.2.Students cannot cross-enroll in more than one school per semester/term.
- The procedure on cross-enrollment is as follows:
4.1. Write a letter to the President through the VPAA, detailing reasons for desiring cross-enrollment.
4.2. Your letter should contain the endorsement signature of the Program Head/Program Coordinator and Dean.
4.3. Submit the letter with all necessary signatures to the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, for endorsement for approval of the President.
