Once again, the Northern Christian College (NCC) has proven its high performance in licensure examinations, when all of its fresh Midwifery graduates passed the Midwifery Licensure Examinations, given by the Professional Regulation Commission on November 6-7. The new midwives are: Florie Ann Abida, Florence Agubo, Florie Joy Allag, Marie Grace Batangan, Olive Rose dela Cruz, Jonalyn Mateo, Ronalyn Palting, Marlyn Pascual, Hazel Rafol; Elsie Santos, Kristine Valera, and Ginalin Tagubase. Another two former NCC midwifery graduates also took the exams and one of them passed, giving an over-all rating of 93% for the school. This made NCC No. 3 among Category C (schools with 10 to 29 examinees) in the whole country. Of the 3,276 examinees nationwide, only 1, 723 passed. The national passing rate is 75.30%. This is the third time for the School of Midwifery, under Principal Wilma Castillo, to have a high rating. In the April 2005 exams; Class 2005 had a 100% passing rate, but the failure of one of two repeaters reduced NCC’s passing rate to 92%, still good enough for second place in its category nationwide. And in May 2007 Midwifery Examinations, NCC posed a 92% passing rate. (Roland R. Agra/Jana Valerie Bitanga) |
