CHED scholars receive master’s degrees PDF Print E-mail

           Five faculty members, who earned their master’s degrees after two years of studying at the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) Graduate School, will finally receive their diplomas during the University’s Commencement Exercises on April 3, 2009 at MMSU, Batac City.

           These faculty members were granted scholarships to pursue their master’s degree programs under the Higher Education Development Program (HEDP) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).           

            The scholars, who earned their master’s degrees in English Language and Literature (MAELL), are: Prof. Bert Gamiao, graduated summer 2008, and Prof. Joyce Castillo, October 2008. Both are English language instructors at the College of Arts, Sciences and Social Work (CASSW). Those who earned their Master of Arts degrees in Mathematics (MAM) are Professors Madelyn Reynon (CASSW); Nelson Lacadin and Alfredo Alave, from the Laboratory High School. The three scholars graduated in summer 2008. Prof. Gamiao’s thesis was “Communicative Strategies in Writing;” Prof. Castillo, “Effectiveness of Authentic Texts in Enhancing the Reading Skills of College Freshmen;” Prof. Reynon, “Additive Partitions of Numbers;” Prof. Lacadin, “Polyhedron Coloring;” and Prof. Alave, “Polygonal Arrangement of Numbers”.
